The caterers were gone now, the house peaceful. Jason

took his hand, smiling at him. “Does everything look good?”

Blaze nodded. “I"m still shocked you thought we needed

to cater Christmas dinner.”

Jason shook his head. “I can"t believe you guys wanted

to have Christmas here. Cooking is not my forte.”

“It"s not mine either, sweetheart,” Laura said, sitting

back in the chair. “I"m still recovering from the „two turkeys

and a ham" incident.”

“Mom,” Jason said, looking horrified. “That was five

years ago.”

“I didn"t think it would be that hard to cook Christmas

dinner,” she said, continuing like she hadn"t heard Jason.

“It"s not hard to cook a TV dinner either, but I can"t do

it,” Jason said.

Jason"s dad shook his head. “Neither of you are allowed

in a kitchen ever again.”

Blaze laughed and squeezed Jason"s hand, feeling bad

when he saw Jason"s embarrassed scowl. “Aw, well I can

cook,” Blaze said with a chuckle. “I tell you what. I"ll do the

cooking, you do the laundry?”

Jason"s grin was nearly blinding when he leaned over

and kissed Blaze. “Deal.”

Blaze froze with horror when he realized they had kissed

in front of Jason"s parents, but they just smiled benignly at

them. Jason"s dad spoke up. “Thank God Jason got his

mom"s enjoyment of laundry. I was a very lucky man. We

may have gone hungry, but I never wore dirty underwear.”
